NEW Personalized Zodiac Bracelets from Amigami!

NEW Personalized Zodiac Bracelets from Amigami!

Amigami is proud to present an amazing line of custom & personalized Zodiac Bracelets. These bracelets are constructed from a cornucopia of semi-precious gemstones, meticulously arranged to mirror the planets positions at the moment of your birth. Designed by Amy Barnhart, an amateur astrologer with over 15 years experience, these bracelets are calculated from your individualized birth data (date, time & location), so no two are exactly alike!
Each bracelet comes with your corresponding star chart, a 15-page handwritten Zodiac analysis, and a bookmark detailing the stones and instructions on how to Read your new Bracelet. These bracelets are perfect for those interested in Astrology, and make the ideal gift for that special someone in your life. These are also perfect for mothers – you can have one for each of your children – a far more meaningful and unique keepsake than a mere birthstone!

What is a Star Chart? When someone reads their horoscope in the newspaper, they are actually looking up their Sun Sign. This is determined by the movement of the Sun through the Zodiac constellations at the moment of their birth. But Astrology is much more than the position of the Sun – all the planets in the Solar System can be tracked through the Zodiac constellations, and each of these planets are said to have their own unique influences. The combination and interaction of these planetary forces make up a total personality forecast, which is far more precise and revealing than merely looking at one’s Sun Sign.
Astrologers graph these planetary positions onto a Natal Chart or Wheel, which is the basis of your Zodiac Bracelet. Compare the two to discover the meanings behind each bead; the larger Planet stones are positioned among the signs & houses, mirroring their movements within the Wheel. Each bead is a genuine semi-precious gemstone, carefully selected by its metaphysical associations to the sign or planet it symbolizes. Once you learn the meaning of each stone, you will be able to ‘read’ the bracelet easily – and you will have a wearable reference to your Natal Chart that is far more personalized than a single ‘birth stone.’

This one of a kind bracelet features a vast array of gorgeous semi precious gemstones, including: Aquamarine, Amethyst, Garnet, Pietersite, Turquoise, Citrine, Charoite, Onyx, Rhodonite, Rainbow Fluorite, Peridot, Red Agate, Kambaba Jasper, Sodalite, Amazonite, Tigereye, Jupiter Jasper, Carnelian, Moonstone, Pyrite, Hematite, Golden Calcite & Chrysocolla

Amigami Summer Catalog

After several sleepless nights, the Amigami Summer Catalog is now available!  This catalog features all the great products I have for sale, as well as work of local artists.  I am now in the process of sending it far & wide, a kind of guerrilla distribution.

You can have your own copy or help spread the word today!  When working with the PDF, print only the odd pages first, then flip the finished pages and print the even.  Then simply fold the pages in half & staple.

Remembering Senator Robert C. Byrd

R.I.P. 1917 - 2010

West Virginia takes a statewide pause today to commemorate the passing of our greatest advocate.  Senator Byrd dedicated his career and life towards making this great state a  better place for each and every citizen.  For 52 years he fought for us — my mother’s whole life (not to mention my own).  Both economically and socially, he always ensured West Virginia would not be forgotten.  Senator Byrd was loved by all West Virginians, regardless of status or standpoint.  His passing leaves a great void in the soul of this state, but his memory will live on for generations, in the hearts & minds of all those whose lives his good works touched. My condolences to the entire Byrd family — my heart goes out to you as I know his went out to all of us.

Rock N’ Roll-igami, Part Tres

Throughout the weeks, I’ve been continuing my Rock N’ Roll-igami series of modular art, with gorgeous results.

Thanks to booklet donations, I’ve been able to complete several dynamic classic rock pieces, featuring some of the most iconic performers of the late 20th century.

Of course, all of these pieces are available for sale in my Etsy shop.  Some of the new models include:

Greatest Hits Cube, including Aerosmith, John Mellencamp and Kansas

Smashing Pumpkins Orb (Icosahedron), featuring albums Pisces Iscariot, Mellon Collie and Adore

Modular Cube featuring mid 90s Rock: Bush, REM and the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Icosahedron featuring Santana, Jimmy Buffett and the Jimi Hendrix Experience

One Hit Wonder Cube, including Oleander, Marcy Playground, Loko Phylum, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Harvey Danger and 3 Doors Down

Amigami is always looking for more CD booklet donations! I will make a custom piece for each person who donates, and am willing to negotiate payment for larger contributions.

Please contact me via the comments form or the ‘Contact’ tab at the top if you would like to contribute to the Roll N’ Roll-igami series.

Amigami at Rogers Community Auction!

Eastern Ohio is the home of many weekly flea markets and community auctions.  With great deals and virtually endless variety, you can’t find a better way to spend a summer day shopping.  And one of the (in my opinion) best is conveniently just up the river.  Rogers Community Auction, located (coincidentally enough) in Rogers, Ohio, allows the community a terrific way to buy and sell on a massive scale.  With over 1600 vendor lots plus pavilions, and even livestock auctions, you can literally find just about anything.

So what better way for Amigami to spend a super warm Friday than to set up a spot and talk to the good people of the market.  In addition to the Amigami items for sale, we also featured creations by Sneaky and Autumn, as well as vintage & antique items donated by both Rancho Chico Ranch and myself.  It was an absolutely gorgeous, albeit HOT day, and although we were located in a mere tributary of a thoroughfare, we were luckily near the bridge to the parking lot.

Many people stopped to discuss our more peculiar items (particularly Rancho Chico’s vintage infant incubator!), and by the end of the day there was a lot more empty space in the back of the truck.  Our lot neighbors were an absolute pleasure, we couldn’t have asked for better company.  And of course, we made a nice sum and were even able to purchase a few items of our own during our turns wandering the market.  Overall, it was a terrific experience, and I have every intention of returning throughout the summer (although an Independence Day hiatus is in order).  If you are in the eastern Ohio/western Pennsylvania are on a Friday this summer (maybe a layover at the Pitt Airport?) make SURE not to miss this wonderful weekly event!

Stylish Summer Hemp Bracelets

Hemp jewelry never seems to go out of style, and it is one of the most often requested crafts I create.  And for good reason – it is incredibly strong, easy to work with, and withstands the tests of time and wear.  Honestly, I had never worked with hemp until a few years ago.  My prior experience with knotted bracelets however, was solely in embroidery floss, (which employs several of the same techniques) so the transition to hemp was fairly simple.

These lovely hemp bracelets are dedicated to the beginning of summer, and are great for people of all ages.  Each bracelet is constructed through a series of alternating square knots, punctuated by wooden vintage-style round beads.  The neutral color scheme of the bracelet, accented by the red and black bead patterns, truly make this a go-to piece for any summer outfit or occasion.

As alluded to above, I’ve also been working with my traditional medium of embroidery floss.  The plethora of colors available, along with the more pliable nature of floss,   allow for a vast array of color and pattern variations.  These are just a few simple examples, but I hope to feature larger, more complex pieces in the near future.

I particularly enjoy the piece which has come to be known as the “Rasta Bracelet.”  Constructed using the traditional technique of double overhand knots, these bracelets feature repeating bars of Rastafari red, gold & green separated by fields of black.  Adding dance and movement, thin braids dangle from either end of the bracelet, which really makes them stand out from the pack.  These bracelets are great for either gender, and add a playful splash to any ensemble.

If you are interested in either of the designs, please check my Etsy shop – they will be posted soon!  And of course, if you have an idea of your own you would like to see materialized, I am always available for custom requests.
